Raye Freedman Library Newsletter - May 2017

May 2017 / Iyyar - Sivan 5777

Well with winter approaching, now's the time that weekends at home in front of the fire box if you are lucky enough to have one, blobbing out and watching DVDs becomes really appealing. Even more so when it's raining and cold outside!

We have received some new books - kindly donated by Adele and Wally Hirsh.

A memoir written by Wally Hirsh, another memoir written by Anne Glickman, and a partial history of the Wellington Hebrew Congregation.

It's great to receive these books as they contribute towards a better understanding of Jewish life in Aotearoa NZ.

I am open to seeing if the Library can possibly help assist others who are researching aspects of Jewish NZ. Please contact me.

** Thank you Adele and Wally!! Appreciated.**

We have some other great new books too...

And the Library has a great selection of DVDs to borrow. With winter approaching, now's a good time to borrow a few DVDs, make popcorn, and binge watch your way through a rainy afternoon.

There are lots more DVDs to explore, so have a look through the catalogue (I know, the site is old, but we are currently upgrading it!).

Every Tuesday night at 8pm we have Chess Club, but really, if you would like to play another game, like cards, or a board game like Monopoly, feel free to bring these along to play! This is another option for those long winter nights.

Well, that wraps up another month here at the Library. We look forward to seeing you here soon!
